Your Chronological Age vs. Your Biological Age
You might be 50 years old on your driver’s license, but what if your cells are aging like you’re 60? Or 40?
Biological age measures how well your body is functioning at the cellular level—based on inflammation, metabolism, organ function, and stress markers. It’s the most accurate predictor of longevity, disease risk, and healthspan.
Why Biological Age Matters More Than Chronological Age
Two people can both be 55 years old, but one may have the cellular health of a 45-year-old (low inflammation, strong metabolism, optimal organ function), while the other has the biology of a 65-year-old (chronic inflammation, insulin resistance, declining function).
The good news? Biological age is reversible. With the right interventions—nutrition, lifestyle, supplements, hormones, advanced therapies—you can turn back the clock at the cellular level.
What is PhenoAge?
We use the PhenoAge calculation—a scientifically validated algorithm developed by researchers at Yale University—to determine your biological age.
PhenoAge analyzes 9 blood biomarkers that reflect systemic aging:
- Albumin: Protein synthesis and liver function
- Creatinine: Kidney function and muscle health
- Glucose: Metabolic health and insulin sensitivity
- C-Reactive Protein (CRP): Inflammation
- Lymphocyte %: Immune function
- Mean Cell Volume (MCV): Red blood cell health
- Red Cell Distribution Width (RDW): Cellular stress
- Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP): Bone and liver health
- White Blood Cell Count: Immune response
These biomarkers are combined into a single score that tells you: Are you aging faster, slower, or at the same rate as your chronological age?
What’s Included in Your Biological Age Assessment
🩸 Comprehensive Blood Panel (9 Biomarkers)
Simple blood draw at a local lab or at-home test kit. Results typically available within 5–7 days.
📊 PhenoAge Calculation & Analysis
Your results are analyzed using the PhenoAge algorithm to determine your biological age. You’ll receive a detailed report showing:
- Your biological age vs. chronological age
- Individual biomarker analysis (what’s optimal, what needs improvement)
- Key aging factors (inflammation, metabolic health, organ function)
- Risk assessment for age-related diseases
📋 Personalized Longevity Protocol
Based on your results, you’ll receive a customized protocol to reverse biological aging:
- Nutrition Plan: Anti-inflammatory foods, meal timing, macros
- Supplement Protocol: Targeted nutrients to optimize biomarkers
- Lifestyle Recommendations: Sleep, stress management, exercise
- Advanced Therapies (if appropriate): Hormone optimization, peptides, NAD+, metabolic support
📞 30-Minute Results Consultation
Review your biological age report with Reshma Patel, PA-C. Understand your results, ask questions, and get clear next steps for your longevity protocol.
🔄 Retesting & Progress Tracking
Retest every 6–12 months to track your progress and adjust your protocol. The goal: reverse your biological age and extend your healthspan.
Who Should Get a Biological Age Assessment?
This assessment is ideal for you if:
- You want to know if you’re aging faster or slower than your chronological age
- You’re focused on longevity, disease prevention, and healthspan optimization
- You have chronic inflammation, fatigue, or metabolic issues
- You’re already optimizing your health and want objective data to track progress
- You want a baseline before starting hormone therapy, peptides, or other advanced therapies
- You’re proactive about your health and want to catch aging-related decline early
How It Works
Step 1: Order Your Test
Schedule your consultation and we’ll order your blood panel. You can get your blood drawn at a local lab or use an at-home test kit (mailed to you).
Step 2: Get Tested
Complete your blood draw. Results are typically available within 5–7 days.
Step 3: Results Analysis
Your biomarkers are analyzed using the PhenoAge algorithm. You’ll receive a comprehensive report with your biological age, biomarker breakdown, and key findings.
Step 4: Consultation & Protocol Delivery (30 minutes)
Review your results with Reshma Patel, PA-C. Receive your personalized longevity protocol with clear action steps.
Step 5: Implementation & Retesting

Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate is the PhenoAge test?
PhenoAge is a scientifically validated algorithm developed by researchers at Yale University and published in peer-reviewed journals. It’s one of the most accurate biological age calculators available, using 9 blood biomarkers that reflect systemic aging.
What if my biological age is older than my chronological age?
This is common and reversible! It means your body is experiencing more inflammation, metabolic stress, or organ decline than optimal. The good news: with targeted interventions (nutrition, supplements, lifestyle, hormones, advanced therapies), you can reverse biological aging.
How often should I retest?
We recommend retesting every 6–12 months to track progress and adjust your protocol. Some patients retest quarterly if they’re implementing aggressive interventions (hormone therapy, peptides, etc.).
Is this test covered by insurance?
The blood panel itself may be partially covered by insurance (depending on your plan). The PhenoAge analysis and consultation are typically not covered. We provide detailed receipts (superbills) for insurance reimbursement.
Can I do this if I live outside California?
Currently, we are licensed to practice in California via telehealth. We are expanding to additional states in 2026 (Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Utah, Washington).
What’s the difference between biological age and telomere testing?
Telomere testing measures the length of protective caps on your chromosomes (one marker of aging). PhenoAge uses 9 biomarkers that reflect systemic aging across multiple organ systems—inflammation, metabolism, immune function, organ health. PhenoAge is more comprehensive and actionable.
Do I need to fast before the blood draw?
Yes, we recommend fasting for 8–12 hours before your blood draw (water is fine). This ensures accurate glucose and metabolic markers.
Can I combine this with other services?
Absolutely! Biological Age Assessment is included in our Precision Metabolic Optimization, Hormone Health Deep Dive, and Elite Longevity Concierge programs. It’s also a great baseline before starting any advanced therapies.
